August Meeting — Peggy McCrum from Brady California

Peggy is the President of the Long Beach Brady Chapter, and is the immediate Past President of Brady California. She became involved in the gun violence prevention movement several years after the robbery and shooting death of her brother. Congratulations Norma & Danny!

Election Day

is less than 90 days away. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have great momentum, democrats are excited, and I am FINALLY sleeping well. Lawn signs are starting to appear for candidates around town, our HHHDC members have been out working hard knocking on doors for candidates and attending fundraising events. Tonight was the final filing deadline for candidates. Seven of our members are heading to Chicago this weekend as delegates for the DNC (and boy is our schedule PACKED for those 5 days). I will have more event updates and opportunities and a recap of the DNC when I get back from Chicago, but for now, I have included are some events that are coming up soon.

If you would like to watch the DNC at home, the CA delegation breakfasts will be live streaming out YouTube each morning on CADem’s channel, all of the daytime caucus meetings will be streaming, and of course, the nightly speeches and business at the arena will be streaming.

Let's keep up the momentum! HHHDC has political postcards to new and infrequent voters in CD45 encouraging them to vote for Derek Tran. Let Norma know if you would like a set of 5 postcards, with stamps, addresses, script and directions.

Thank you for your dedication to Democracy!
